Peter Krogstad bought one of the new Linden Homes but it was boring so he sold it.

Peter Krogstad bought a house in the suburbs, as suburbs seem to be the strongest imagery in this game. This was one of the recently created Linden Homes. He decorated but had no one over and even though he tried to interact with neighbours he was only partially successful. So he sold this house to cut costs. Buying the house had increased rental costs.

I have purchased a canoe for guests to use at Crystal Computings offices

I went looking for canoes and found a business that makes scripted canoes. I bought a dock and canoe. This dock allows a canoe to appear and one can then paddle it around and then a new canoe appears. I set this up at my beach front house/office. I do not have many prims at this beach office. I also have very little room at my present tier for buying more land.

Land sales successful.

Peter Krogstad bought land near his house and then resold it for a slight profit. He managed to take advantage of the recent downturn in the economy which affected land prices in Second Life. In fact, he is continuing to find some good deals on land. For now he is also affected by rent costs meaning he is not over all making any profit and the land sales remain a hobby.

He does enjoy exploriing land for sale in certain regions.

Peter Krogstad made 20$ US paid in Linden dollars tonight completing a survey.

Some group calling themselves Cyber University created a a few sims based on US Airforce themes including Ann Ryan and other right wing military stuff. The survey Peter completed was based on an exploration of this sim. Peter answered the survey after completing the exploration. He also had to take snapshots and mail them in as he went along. For all this work he will be paid 20$ US in Linden dollars.

Peter bought some land by a beach in McIntyre.

Peter bought a 1040 sq m lot in McIntyre with a beach front. This cost about 110$ CND.

He set up his old beach house and put in the cubes, stairs and rails and a couple of desks and the second floor board table and two chairs. This almost maxed out the prims on this lot.

He is now selling a 1024 lot and a 512 lot along the cliff in Monty. If this is successful he can once again go back down to the 15$ a month tier for rental fees paid to Linden Labs. He also abandoned two small lots in Hughes.

Using GIMP Peter Krogstad has designed a hockey rink ice surface

Peter Krogstad was exploring winter sims and got an idea to build a hockey rink. Using Wikipedia to get the regulation size in meters and a graphic for the ice markings for an ice hockey game he built 10 m by 10 m section textures as 10 by 10 pixel sections. He did this by selecting the 10 by 10 pixel sections on the graphic. This was for ease of process, rather than graphic quality, as building graphics as powers of two pixels is best for upload to Second Life. When copying these 10 by 10 sections from the Wikipedia graphic into new files, the new files would open in exactly the right size to copy and paste the ice marking graphics. The GIMP new file would sense the copy and paste in GIMP. Some side parts near the boards are narrow because the rink is about 26 meters wide. The length of the rink is just under 64 meters by two meters. So narrow end sections are also needed. The length created is just 64 meters.

This means a lot of at least 32 X 64 is needed. Peter has been scouting out such a lot but the price is about 100 dollars Canadian. Also this would raise his tier to the 25 dollar range again. This lot too is not really enough room on the side for player benches and penalty boxes. He also might go for a 80 m long lot by 32. But unless he sells a 1024 lot he has for sale this extra 512 lot on the end of the 64 X 32 lot will push him into the 40$ a month tier.

Peter Krogstad bought a Bell Helicopter and then made a landing pad above this house

Peter Krogstad wanted a mysterious black helicopter so paid 1000L$ for one. It flies like a real helicopter with real smoke. He has flown and landed it once at his new helioport which he build with a Gimp textures. He built a 10 by 10 texture and then placed this on the top face of some brick work 10 by 10 by 1 platforms. He used four of these platforms and rotated the texture on each getting a circle from the one quarter circle textures. He then suspended these platforms slightly off one side of his house at the top.

Peter Krogstad is finally down one tier for a whole month

Peter Krogstad sold land successfully and did not buy a lot more so he is back down to the fifteen dollars a month land tier. Yesterday Peter sold 64 sq m off that and that sale will cover his tier fee this month. He may move to a winter sim and has a small parcel started in a winter sim with only a snow covered pine tree on it now.
